Three paths lead to the highest peak of the region, Mount Smolikas (2637m.). By choosing the first path need 5 hours to the top. The second starts from the street outside Samarina. Finally, drive to a point and three hours way to the top. From the top, which is naked as opposed to their foot, they look spotless Ioannina, Kastoria, Vitsi and Albania. From the closest destinations is the stream of Valia Kirna southwest of Samarina.
The stream that flows from Smolikas and forming waterfalls. Southwest of the village at the foot of Smolikas, are both known "Drakolimni" Smolikas and Apa Spintziourata (hanging water). Known destination is the mountain Gomara in Smixi limits - Samarinas- Distrato.
From the mountain Gomara is the village of Samarina, Olympus, Kastoria and Tymfi. North and east of Samarina, at an altitude of 1840m. located Skourtzia and top Greco - Romios.
Destination for winter getaways is the ski center of Vasilitsa which is snow most of the year and enables visitors many winter activities. Excursions for the months of May to November and consists of the following destinations.
